Who we are
Nice to meet you, I'm Giovanna
I was born and raised in the Lido and, let’s be honest, there’s something in the air here (besides the sea breeze) that stays with you forever. Together with my husband Mario — partner in life and in renovations — we decided to breathe new life into my parents’ house. Yes, the very one where I used to run through the hallways and pretend to help out in the kitchen as a child. We lovingly restored it with patience and a fair number of debates over tiles and faucets. The result? A warm, authentic home with a few touches of “modern grandma” style.
We’re proud grandparents of three wonderful grandchildren (if we may say so!) and we imagined Casa Giò as a peaceful, simple retreat — a place where even those coming from far away can immediately feel at home. Our hope is that your stay here will be filled with smiles, relaxation, and beautiful moments to take with you… preferably without changing diapers, like we have to do!
How we started
It all started with an idea… and with my husband Mario, a retired surveyor and chronic renovation enthusiast (he can't see a wall without thinking about how to make it better). Years ago, we looked at each other and said, "What if we gave new life to the old family home?" From there, the adventure began.
Casa Gio' wasn't born by chance, but from an explosive combination of dreams, bricks, and endless visits to the hardware store. We wanted to create something special: not just a vacation rental, but a real home to live in, full of character, attention to detail, and... electrical outlets in the right places (thanks, Mario!).
Every detail was chosen with love—even those we debated for days. Because, let's face it, this house will be ours one day, and we wanted it to have everything we love: comfort, beauty, and a well-balanced touch of madness.
And so Casa Gio' was born: a place where every corner tells a story and every stay, we hope, makes you feel a little part of ours.
Our team
Behind Casa Gio' there's not a big company... but a big family! There are three of us, each with a different superpower, but with a common mission: to make you feel at home, or better than home.
👩🌾 Giovanna – aka the mistress of details. She's the one who makes the garden bloom, arranges the cushions better than Marie Kondo, and notices if a curtain is even half a centimeter askew. She takes care of every corner of the house as if it were her own (spoiler alert: it is!).
🛠️ Mario – aka the solutions man When something breaks, he's already fixed it. If it needs assembly, moving, repairing, or building... Mario is there. No effort scares him, except maybe choosing between two similar colors.
💻 Daniela – aka the voice behind the screen. I'm the one who responds to messages, updates the website, manages bookings, and sends virtual hearts to every guest. If Casa Gio' seems well-organized online, know that it's my love of to-do lists that's behind it.
In short, we're a quirky but close-knit team, and we can't wait to welcome you to Casa Gio'!
